Wind Turbines do not Affect Home Prices

by Andy Goldman on March 17, 2012

A recent post of ‘’The daily stat’’ by the Harvard Business Review, HBR, has dealt with the impact on home prices of Wind Turbines used for the production of renewable green power. The study that was done in USA has shown that the impact was Zero, (0).

The study has taken into account 7,500 sales of single-family homes that were situated around 24 different wind farms in the USA that were used of the production of electricity using the renewable green energy source.  The impact on prices was none, zero, for both the cases where the homes were near the wind turbines and for the cases where the homes had a view to the turbines.

This proves that the myth about wind turbines affecting the value of properties is invalid and that we only have positive effects e.g. zero emissions, from the use of this form of renewable green energy. We will examine more the impact of wind turbines on real estate prices in a follow up article.
