2011 GeoPower Europe: The Official Conference of the European Geothermal Energy Council

The 3rd  annual Official Conference of the European Geothermal Energy Council, is taking place on 6-7 December 2011, at Milan Italy. The purpose of the GeoPower Europe conference is to drive the evolution and growth in European geothermal energy. The 2010 conference was attended by more than 200 attendees and featured 45 speakers.

The conference will be preceded by a 1-day training course in Geothermal Technology by Dr John Massey and is mainly addressed to the non experts as it assumes no previous technical knowledge. It is expected help attendees to better participate the event.

GeoPower Europe will:

  • Offer advice on securing finance from venture capital funds and institutional investors
  • Explore unconventional geothermal resources
  • Provide in-depth analysis of emerging markets including East Africa
  • Review the potential of shallow geothermal, including Ground Source Heat Pumps

According to the European Geothermal Energy Council (EGEC) geothermal energy is the only source of energy that can provide continuous, sustainable and reliable electricity generation 24 hours a day. According to EGEC, geothermal energy is considered a key resource for an optimal energy mix.
