The 1st South African conference and exhibition on Concentrated Solar Thermal Power will take place on February 7-8, 2012 at Johannesburg, South Africa. It is a promising event and the first of its kind in the African continent and hopefully it will be stimulating 2 day event that will attract the attention of the industry in South Africa.

South Africa has taken a key and strategic position in the CSP market and this position has opened new business opportunities for the local and international industry. This conference will attempt to bring together all the stakeholders in an attempt to give a big boost to the CSP exploitation in South Africa, something that would ignite the interest in the rest of the region. This 1st CSP conference and exhibition will be the only event that will be fully dedicated to the commercial CSP projects in South Africa. It is anticipated that over 200 industry experts/professionals on Concentrated Solar Thermal Power will attend this conference.

The conference agenda will cover the most critical issues and topics in the CSP area and specifically the CSP development in South Africa. Some of these topics are:

  • Incentives and pricing of CSP technology in South Africa
  • Cost Vs Efficiency of the storage capability in South Africa
  • Formulation of a successful Business plan for CSP
  • CSP sourcing and partnerships
  • South African and Global CSP
  • Getting financed to run a CSP project in South Africa

There are over 25 committed speakers for this conference and the number will certainly increase as the interest grows as the conference dates approach.

Attendees are from all areas of the industry and academia and it includes CSP technology providers, financiers, senior managers, policy makers, investors and innovators

This first of its kind event, conference and exhibition, will be fully concentrated on the South African realities and will unlock the opportunities for the Concentrated Solar Power, CSP, technology and exploitation of the solar thermal sources for the benefit of all stakeholders.
